It’s The Last Meter That Counts

Besides functional and luxury concerns, use of high quality brake pads is even more critical.

High quality brake pads ensures safe braking distance and is the most important component that determines after braking, how many meters your car will run before it stops completely.

Indeed, between safety and mishap, it is often the last meter that counts!

About LPB

LPB brake pads are manufactured by Shandong Gold Phoenix Co., Ltd. (SGP) which is the largest automotive brake pad manufacturer in China and the top five in the world. It possesses in-house road test facilities, advanced R&D, technical and engineering capabilities with several R&D Centre and Engineering Laboratories.

Certified by SIRIM & E-Mark

LPB brake pads and shoes are manufactured with formulations that are approved and comply with European E-mark standards and bear ECE R90 approval numbers on their backing plates. To ensure full compliance with Malaysian regulations for each and every brake pad and shoe imported, certifications have additionally been sought and approved by SIRIM under the equivalent Malaysian standard bearing MS1164 approval numbers on their backing plates.

Positive Mould Technology

LPB brake pads are manufactured with Positive Mould technology used by Original Equipment (OE) suppliers. Positive Mould uses precise pressure and heat to compress friction materials and bond it to the backing plate.

High-performance Friction Material and Formulation

Semi-metallic – primarily contain steel fiber and iron powder (>30%), abrasives and lubricants.

Low-metallic – contain some steel fiber and/or iron powder  (<30%), various abrasives and lubricants, some non-ferrous metals.

Non-asbestos organics (NAO) – contain nonferrous metals, various abrasives and lubricants, mineral fibers and other reinforcements.

Uncompromising quality of the Brake System

LPB's manufacturing plant have 21 dynamometers (6 equipped with ECU). Using them, the LPB engineers can simulate and evaluate different brake properties, such as green, characteristic value, fading at high speed and temperature, cold, recovery, wear and NVH, etc.

LPB's road-test track enables in-house testing of braking performance on new formulation or products under various weather conditions during the development stage for scientific research, quality improvement and pursuit of safe application.

Solutions to common brake issues

LPB's R&D team will undertake mould development, process research, formulation development, raw material testing and selection, and manufacturing and engineering process development to ensure the finished products are of unfailing quality and safety.

Extensive research have been done on common brake problems faced by drivers. Learn more about the solutions of issues such as brake noise, brake judder, loss of braking efficiency and abnormal wear of brake pads.
